SUMMARY:SC142: Porphyry Copper Deposits of Southern BC
DESCRIPTION:Field Course: Kamloops and Princeton\n&nbsp\;\nJoin MDRU for a
 Porphyry Field Course from June 8 to 12\, 2026\n[Course begins (10:30am) a
 nd ends (5pm) in Kamloops\, BC]\n&nbsp\;\nCOURSE DESCRIPTION\nThis mine-fo
cused field program offers a rare opportunity to study three of the most p
roductive porphyry copper systems in the Southern Quesnel Belt. Participan
ts will visit Copper Mountain\, Highland Valley Copper\, and New Afton\, e
ach representing distinct deposit geometries\, mineralization styles and a
lteration footprints. Through guided site visits\, drill-core examinations
\, and expert-led discussions\, the course emphasizes the integration of g
eology\, geochemistry\, and spectral mineralogy to build a robust understa
nding of porphyry system architecture. This field trip is ideal for profes
sionals seeking practical insights they can directly apply to exploration
 and resource-modelling workflows.\n&nbsp\;\nWHY ATTEND\n• Access World-C
lass Deposits: Study three major porphyry copper systems that collectively
span a range of sizes\, ore styles\, and alteration profiles.\n\n• Lear
n From Specialists: Gain insight from MDRU researchers and on-site technic
al experts.\n\n• Hands-on Learning: Examine drill core with accompanying
four-acid geochemical and SWIR spectral datasets to deepen your understan
ding of porphyry copper deposits.\n\n• Build Professional Connections: N
etwork with colleagues from academia\, industry and graduate students in a
  focused\, collaborative learning environment.\n\n&nbsp\;\nLOCATION\nKamlo
