oduction to structural/fluid geology of hydrothermal systems\n\n    •
Fluid flow driving forces in different mineral systems \n\n    • Prim
ary porosity versus fracture/fault/shear and chemical permeability\n\n

ss fields – and prediction of mineralization\n\n        - Fundamenta
ls of vein-fault-breccia patterns and local stress fields\n\n        -
Revision of practical methods used to extract kinematic information \n\n

 ucture/grade/geochemistry data fusion\n\n        - Logging veins/brecc
 ias and their geochemical equivalents\n\n        - Alteration/replacem
ent and veining blended with structural observations\n\n    • Practica
 l exercise \n\n&nbsp\;\n\n3. Dealing with structural/hydrothermal complex
ity\n\n    • Extract simple\, predictable patterns from apparent compl
exity\n\n    • Structural paragenesis - which structure cuts what and
why? Dealing with reactivation\n\n    • Structural data and data use i
 n drillcore. Pitfalls and QAQC. \n\n&nbsp\;\n\n4. Structural/hydrothermal
analysis principals for different hydrothermal systems\n\n    • Porph
 yries and other magmatic-hydrothermal vein styles\n\n    • Epithermal\
 n\n    • Carlin-\, skarn- and other replacement-dominant systems\n\n
    • Orogenic shear zone and stockwork deposits\n\n    • Overprinte
 d syngenetic deposits \n\n&nbsp\;\nDAY 2: Case Histories and Workflows\nB
asement/cover interactions and reactivation: their key roles in ore deposi
 t and district localization\n\n    • Transfer structures at/near surfa
ce – what they look like\, how to recognize them\n\n    • Structural
intersections and their significance\n\n    • Significance of basemen
 t/cover interaction structures in porphyry/epithermal systems\n\n    •
Significance of basement/cover interaction structures in orogenic systems
\n\n&nbsp\;\nDAY 3: Technical Applications and Developments \nAdvanced te
 chniques in structural/geochemical/hydrothermal analysis\n\n    • Tech
nical advances in recent years \n\n    • Pitfalls of machine-scanning
in real-time workflows\, dealing with scale and data overload \n\n
 • Generating suitable data for machine learning and AI\n\n    • Fuse
 d Truscan/structural core logging\n\n    • Introduction to ioGAS for g
 eochemistry-structure fusion\n\n&nbsp\;\nABOUT THE PRESENTERS\nNicholas (N
ick) Oliver (PhD\, FSEG) is lead consultant and director within the Austra
lian consortium HCOVGlobal\, and Honorary Professor of Economic Geology at
James Cook University (JCU) and also the University of Queensland Sustain
able Minerals Institute in Australia. After positions with CSIRO\, Carnegi
e Institute Geophysical Laboratory\, Monash and Curtin universities\, he w
as Professor of Economic Geology at JCU from 1997 to 2010\, during which t
ime he headed up several major industry-university-government consortium p
rojects. For the last 14 years he has been a full-time consultant to the m
inerals sector\, focussed on fusion of structural\, geochemical and geophy
sical data\, and training. He has given field- and on-line training course
s to over 6000 geologists worldwide. His experience with gold and base met
al systems is global\, from prospects to world class giants\, through Fenn
 oscandia\, Africa\, Australasia and South America.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nDavid Rhy
s is a consulting geologist based in Vancouver\, Canada. He studied at the
University of British Columbia\, and subsequently has worked for the last
25 years in the mining industry applying geological studies with a struct
ural focus to exploration\, development and mining. Mr. Rhys has extensive
experience in gold deposits\, having worked globally on numerous gold dis
tricts of various types for a variety of clients including both major and
junior companies. He has conducted direct\, field-based geological studies
on deposits which collectively contain &gt\;650 million ounces of gold an
d &gt\;2 billion ounces of Ag\, including the major deposits of the Carlin
Trend and region\, most producing and historical mines in the Southern Ab
itibi Greenstone Belt (e.g. Timmins deposits\, Canadian Malartic\, Kirklan
 d Lake Macassa\, Detour Lake\, Val d’Or\, Hemlo) and Nunavut (e.g. Lupin
 \, Hope Bay\, Amaruq)\, many epithermal deposits (e.g. Pueblo Viejo\, Yana
 cocha\, Round Mountain\, Waihi\, Kupol\, Guanajuato\, Mulatos\, Palmarejo\
, Brucejack)\, and in orogenic gold districts in Africa (e.g. Chirano\, Da
 mang\, Sabodala\, Fekola\, Otjikoto)\, Mexico (La Herradura)\, western Nor
th America and Australia (Fosterville\, Pine Creek district). In addition\
, he has broad experience in uranium deposits of the Athabasca Basin\, por
phyry deposits\, carbonate replacement deposits\, and VMS deposits. His fo
cus is on advanced projects and active mining operations\, aiding in the i
nterpretation of mine site ore controls and applications of mine geology t
o local and district scale exploration activities. Mr. Rhys also provides
training to geological teams to aid in the application of consistent and r
elevant data collection\, and of field based interpretive methods to clien
ts’ technical staff. He is an advisor to several companies.\n\n&nbsp\;\n
