SUMMARY:Dipple Symposium: Fluid-rock Interactions: Mineralization of Metal
 and Carbon
DESCRIPTION:DIPPLE SYMPOSIUM - FRI\, NOV 22  |  10*am - 4pm [*updated]\nF
luid-rock Interactions: Mineralization of Metal and Carbon\nThis year\, on
the day after Open Day\, we're hosting a full-day public symposium to cel
ebrate Greg Dipple's 30 years of dedication to MDRU research and innovatio
 n.\nJoin our speakers—Simon Peacock\, Nick Oliver\, Kelly Russell\, Ken
Hickey\, Shaun Barker\, Greg Dipple\, and Peter Bradshaw—as they discuss
important research topics Greg contributed to\, including fluid flow in t
he crust\, new tools for exploring for carbonate-hosted ore deposits\, and
carbon capture in mine tailings.\nAs MDRU celebrates its 35th anniversary
\, Greg's leadership and contributions have been pivotal throughout his ca
reer at UBC. The symposium will explore three key themes that highlight Gr
eg's impact on both science and MDRU:\n(1) Fluid flow in the crust in meta
 morphic environments\n(2) Exploration for carbonate-hosted ore deposits\n(
 3) Carbon sequestration in mine tailings\n&nbsp\;\nINVITED SPEAKERS AND SC
